Messrs. R. Graham and L. Nic'holls, Gisborne, were recent visitors to Wellington.

Mr. Richard Palmer left last week by the Rangitiki for England, where he will make his future home.

Mrs. Raymond Komp, Russell street, and her children Pamela and Quentin, are the guests of Mrs. H. C. Fraser, Tolaga Bay. The Rev. G. IT. McNcur, of the Canton Villages Mission in China, hopes to visit New Zealand this summer on furlough. He will be accompanied by Mrs. McNeur.

Mr. E. J. Bridgman, of the Customs ollice, Gisborne, will leave on Friday to take up a position in the Christchurch office. He is being succeeded in Gisborne by Mr. J. Russell, of Wellington, who was to arrive here to-day.

The Prime Minister, tno lit. Hon. G. W. Forbes, will make a visit to Canterbury next week-end. He will leave Wellington by ferry steamer on Friday evening, and return on the Tuesday morning, oil Sunday he will unveil a tablet at the Woodcnd Church in memory of the pioneers of the district, and on Monday ho will be present with the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, at the jubilee celebrations at Hanmer Springs.

Mr. K. Li. Walton, S.M., left Gisborne to-day for the north to preside over a sitting of the Magistrate’s Court at Opotiki to-morrow and will take the court at Gisborne on Friday. Mr. A. M. Mowlam, S.M., of Napier, lias obtained leave of absence, and is to be relieved for one month by Mr. Walton and Mr. J. Miller, S.M., of Masterton. Mr. Miller takes the Napier court this week and the week commencing on December 4, and Mr. Walton will preside over the Napier court next week and the week commencing December 11.
