AUSTRALIAN DRIED FRUIT SWAN HILL (Vic.), .March 2.".. The oldest dried-fruit growers state that the season has excelled any they have known for favorable condition: to produce highest-gradc fruit. That preceded by more scientific cultura l methods, and followed hv the tested dirminn- methods, combined to produce a result of over 75 per cent, yield and pack of from three to live crow gaoled fruit, and a high proportion of from four to five crown quality. It has surpassed the highest exnectc tions, and the fruit on the United Kingdom market will impress and firmlv establish the hold gained for quality fruit. Over 1000 tons lias already been exported from the district, and orders in hand show 2000 tons more at least will be sent in April. The returns for last year show the industry is paying well, and this season’s fruit should command still better returns.
