AMUSEMENTS

REGENT THEATRE.

The present splendid programme at the Regent Theatre comprises two full-length films. An ingenious murder mystery story is worked f>ut in "The Man at Six,” a fine English production in which Anne Grey is the leading lady. From the opening scene the audience is kept in a state of excitement. The. denouement is particularly surprising. The English director, Harry Hughes, uses the suggestive method of photography whereby the audience learns from its own observations the time and place of the various happenings. The, "Man at Six” opens when u telephone call is put through to Scotland Yard, and the audience gathers that a murder has taken place. A letter is seen lying on the floor and is picked up and read by a person standing in the shadows -—a bell sounds and a man appears, In this way the audience is introduced to the two chief figures of the mystery-drama. The second feature, "Poor'Old Bill,” is a funny farcecomedy featuring the English comedian Leslie Fuller. The programme provides enjoyable entertainment suitable for the whole family.
