FLIGHT TO LONDON LEAVING FOR DARWIN SYDNEY, Dec. 7. Captain Hans Bertram, flying in bis Junkers machine, will bop olf from Point Cook for Darwin, on the first stage of his flight to London on Friday. The airman will be accompanied by Mr. G. Allen, co-pilot. They expect u> reach London on the seventh day. The machine has a flying range of 1600 miles. Captain Bertram and his companion Adolf Klausmann completed a flight from Europe to Australia on May 15 last. They landed in a desolate part of Western Australia and were lost for some weeks, eventually being rescued early in July. Klausmann’g health and mental condition suffered very severely through the ordeal, but Captain Bertram soon recovered. He salvaged bis machine and flew it back to civilisation. He has been preparing for his coming flight to London for some time.
