HIGH EXCHANGE BATE (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. At a meeting of the emergency committee of the Otago Farmers’ Union, a »esolution was passed strongly opposing further borrowing, and reiterating the conviction that a high exchange rate is the only immediately effective method of assisting exporters and oilier sections of the community. Mr. .Tames Begg said it was often stated that imports would fall off and that balances would accumulate in London. This idea presupposed that the purchasing power in New Zealand would decline. That would not be the case.
