A FARMER’S EXODUS
BAILWAY ENTERPBISE TRAIN TOR STOCK AND GOODS LONDON, Sept. 23. Last night a special train of 35 wagons and coaches left Dereham, Norfolk, for Staines, Middlesex, with the conipleto personnel, furniture, live stock, and equipment of a farmer who is moving to new pastures. The train included 14 wagons for live stock, four trucks for barley, two boxes for horses, two containers with furniture, and a passenger carriage for eight adults and five children. Loading took place during the afternoon, and the train loft Dereham at 9.35 p.m. It travelled over the L.N.E.R. system by way of Wymondham and Stratford, then over tho L.iM'.S. line across North London to Acton, where it joined tho G.W.R. line for Staines being duo at its destination a little before daybreak to-day. Removals of entire farm equipment in one operation have becomo a feature of modern railway enterprise. In February a farmer transferred from a holding at Hornby, Lancashire, to Winchcoinbe, Gloucestershire, a distanco of 200 miles; and in December another farmer moved from Ingloton, Yorkshire to Liphook, Hampshire, a journey of 290 miles. In the latter case tho load included 150 sheep, 300 fowls 32 head of cattle, two dogs, six tons of furniture, carts, haycutting machines, and other implements. The inclusive charge provided for the milking of cows and tho feedingi of the stock on tho journey
