TE ARAROA BURGLARY
POST OFFICE ENTERED RAID PROVES FRUITLESS At some time during the early hours of yesterday morning, the Post Office at To Araroa was burglariously entered, the thief or thieves being unsuccessful, so far as is known, in finding anything of value to them. The evidence of the early-morning raid was observed by the postal officials when they opened the office yesterday, and at once a thorough investigation was carried out as to any losses that might have occurred. Nothing was missed from the safe, which had evidently proved sound against any attack made upon it, but it was found that the posting-box had been prized open. It is improbable Iliat. any letters were stolen, for the dispatches from To Araroa have no! boon heavy recently, and oh many occasions the. posting-box, when opened in the morning, lias been empty, as it was found after the raid yesterday morning. There is a possibility, however, that; some communication was •stolen, and the postal officials are awaiting information on the point from people who might have posted letters on Thursday night.
