Bowie (14), 31, 21, opportunity was taken at the close of this match to present- to Mr. James Austin, sen., the silver cup lie won at the special match held three weeks ago. Mr. D. Hughes, the secretary, expressed the pleasure it gave him to make the presentation, more especially as Mr. Austin was such a regular and consistentcompetitor. The president, Air. McKenzie, in endorsing the remarks of Air. Hughes, said the win was so much more meritorious, seeing that Air. Austin had won the match from scratch. Air. Austin suitably and briefly replied, thanking the speakers for their remarks, and mentioned that he had now Keen attending the matches of the club for so long that he had come to look forward to tho various matches and competitions with the utmost keenness.
It is proposed to endeavor to arrange a match with the Gisborne Rifle Club for the holidays.
