MURIWAI MEETING

INTERESTING HORSE EVENTS

The weather was line and warm for the annual meeting of the Muriwui

Sports Club today, and the attendance gave every promise of reaching expectations. Keen rivalry existed in the equesl rian events, especially in the tit:.line' race, which 'was won by R. r.oyd, a young rider, in an exciting finish. A doubie success was gained by Mrs. Nicholas in ihe early part of flic programme, her horse Tail Tan u inning the local jump, while I 'in A imie aci unnted fur ihe local maiden The lii ,1 spill of the meeting occurred in the hunters' jump. Rangi Kara's mount fell at the second hurdle, throwing its rider, but fortunately he rolled clear, and escaped injury.
