A big gathering of. newspaper men will take place in Rotorua this week, when delegates will assemble .from all p ar ts of the Dominion to hold the annual meetings the Newspaper Proprietors' Association, the United Press Association, and the New Zealand section of tho Empire Press Union.
Under tho will of the late Mrs. Emma Elizabeth Vava»cur-BarnoU the borough of Masterton has been bequeathed two oil paintings belonging to deceased, and entitled, "The Wreck of the .Northumberland" and "The Sounds. ' h\ her will, deceased stated that it was her earnest desire, but without creating any binding trust, that the paintings be used to form the nucleus of a municipal art gallery.
