COLLEGE OLD BOYS CHRIST’S DEFEAT WANGANUI Mainly due to the hard hitting of G. Cotierili and S. Reeves, the old hoys of Christ's College secured a, victory by 63 runs in the match at the Oval yesterday afternoon between the. ex-stu-dents' of Christ’s and Wanganui colleges who are resident in this district. Each side played 16 men, and both teams were made up from players from all parts of the Poverty Bay and Coast districts. As indicated yesterday, Wanganui compiled 184, to which, Christ’s old boys replied with 247. Cotteriil and S. Reeves were the principal scorers, hut several other batsmen helped the total along, B. V. Thomas (retired) making 23, Woodlield (retired) 20, 'Kissling 15, J. G. Reeves 13, and A. B. Williams 11. Gaddum was the most successful- howler for Wanganui, taking six wickets for 45 runs. The efforts that are being made to secure a professional cricket coach for Hawke’s Bay from either Australia or England were reported on at a meeting of the Hawke’s Bay (.Ticket Association. Mr. G. Louisson stated that he had written on the association’s behalf appointing AV anvielc Armstrong as the association’s agent to .secure a man if possible.
