SILVER PAPER LAME (Special to Clio Herald.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The crack three-year-old Silver Paper got. east in bis box on Thursday night and it is very unlikely that he will be able to fulfil iiis Dunedin engagements. At Die best he will have to be eased up ni bis work for a few days. One leg lias filled considerably and he shows signs of Tameness. The defection of Taliaker and Mendip reduced the Cup, run at the Taranaki Tin-key Club’s meeting on Thu , tv, to a seven-horse race. Hv::, ~ iii was a much better favorite than Yoma. The early pace was slow, and Bright Glow and Ando. led through the straight from Vcrtigern and Yoma, with Hvnanna and Miss Mercia last. Five -furlongs from home Ando had run to Ihh front, and led from Bright Glow and Yoma, with Vertigexn and then Ilynanna. Yoma and Anolo both improved their positions on the bend approaching the straight, Yoma always going the better of the pair. 1-Iynajma could not get to him in the run up the straight, and he won by two lengths from Ilynanna, who had to do his best to beat Bright Glow by half a length. Yerti-

gem was a fair fourth, and Miss Mercia last. Hynanna looked a trifle light, and. ran a little below his Ilawcra form. Bright Glow again failed to .stay truly.
