PENDING BY-ELECTIONS
NEW PARTY’S FIRST FIGHT
(British Official Wireless.l Lee. 2 p.m. RUGBY, Dec. o(). Four Parliamentary by-elections are now pending. One of these is in Northern Ireland, caused by the appointment, of Sir Malcolm MacNaghfen, member for Londonderry, as a judge of the King’s Bench. Oilier vacancies are caused by (lie deaths of Sir George Hutchison, Uonservative member for North .Midlothian, Mr. Ben Spoor. Labor member tor Bishop Auckland, and Air. George Warne, Labor member for Wansbeek.
Four candidates will probably contest ■ the Midlothian seat, the Scottish Nationalists having decided lo nominate a candidate, as well as each of the three principal parties. Uiercywill lie three-cornered contests at Vv ansheek and Bishop Auckland, where Mr. Hugh Dalton, who is at present member of Parliament for Peckham, is the prospective. Labor candidate. Idle Labor executive has decided to invite his wife, Airs. Dalton, to contest, the Wansbeek sen t.
