News was received yesterday that the well-known auxiliary keteli Gleaner A waft stranded on the Hat iki Jleef. Word was brought to Suva by the keteli Jan, and she was commissioned to convey to the reef the manager of the owning com puny with carpenters. The ketch was bound from Butha Bay for Suva, and had only one European passenger on board when the mishaii nmuTe.il. The owner of the ({leaner A. Mr. Palmer, who went in the keteli .fan. found that the schooner was a total wreck, with most of her starboard side smashed. All (lie dOO bags of copra were landed ami will be reconditioned. The engine, onto recently installed, was sab l\ landed. The vessel is insured tor £1250, o' that the owner's loss will lir mw ere.
