OBITUARY
LORD LAMBOURNE (Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) (Received Dec. 27. 1 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 20. The death has occurred of Lord Lambonnie at the age of 81 years. The first Baron Lambourne, formerly Air. Richard AT. Lock wood, ivas the eldest son of the late General Mark Lockwood. lie entered the army at the age of 10 years, but retired in 188.0. In ISO2 he entered Parliament and sat continuously until 1017. There is no lieir to the barony. MR. JOHN PEGLER The death has occurred, of Air. John Pegler, of Paerata, and formerly of Waihoko Island (reports the Auckland Herald). Mr. Pegler, who was 77‘years of age, was born in Tasmania and came to New Zealand about 1878. Fiir some years ho was manager of a sheep station at Tolaga Bay, Last Coast., and then went to Waiheke. lie married 35 years ago, his bride being a resident of Waiheke. Mr. Pegler resided at Waiheke until four years ago, most of the time being spent at Ora pin Bay. where be was a well-known farmer. He took an active interest in local affairs, serving on the school committee and the regalia committee. For the past, four years Air. Pegler bad resided in Paerata. He is survived by bis wife, four sons and four daughters. There are four grandchildren.
