SERIOUS CHARGES DROPPED SYDNEY, Dec. 12. g The police have dropped the prosecution against Simpson and Webb, the woman concerned haying refused to give evidence. ;On October 24 a young married woman accepted a preferred car ride with half a dozen young men.- She told the police that when the car reached scrub land in Matraville, en route to Botany, she was dragged out of the car and criminally-assaulted by all six men. Her screams attracted the notice of the police, but when they appeared her assailants decamped. Two men, Jack Simpson, 22, bookmaker, and Charles Webb, 22, farrier, ■were arrested, and charged with outraging the woman.
