Many tributes to the splendid services tendered bv the retiring matron of the Children's'Creche, Miss A. Stewart were paid at a gathering of the Cook County Women's Guild yesterday afternoon, when the opportunity was taken of congratulating her upon her forthcoming marriage, and of making a tangible expression of the esteem m°which she is held. A large number were present, and during the afternoon refreshments were served, and a number of musical items rendered by Mesdames Naden and Church, and several of the children of the creche. In the course of eulogistic references to Miss Stewart's work mention was made of the fact that during the seven years of her matronship no fewer than 2bo children had passed through her hands.
