VICTORY CELEBRATED

UNITED PARTY GATHERING (I\t Press Association.) WELLINGTON- last night. The Prime Minister. Sir Joseph Ward, was entertained to-night by the United Party at a dinner at the Royal Oak Hole!. 'The Minister for Railways, the Hon. W. B. Taverncr, presided. On Sir Joseph Ward's right sat Mr. A. K. Davy, organiser of the United Party, who was tlio recipient of a locket from the Auckland members, the .Minister of [With, the Hon. A. J. Stalhvorthy, making the presentation. He also handed Mr. Davy a well-filled wallet on hehalf of the United members generally.

The. Minister for Lands, the Hon. C!. W. Forbes, made it clear that he intended to prosecute a vigorous policy of land settlement. The Hon. T. M. Wilford, Minister for Defence, stressed the fact that the aim of the United Party was to promote the ginwth of the national wealth.
