■ » <» MATAWHERO CATTLE FAIR EXCELLENT PRICES REALISED There was a. full yarding and a very large attendance at the Poverty Bay Stockbrokers' Association's annual cattle fair, which was commenced at the Matawhero yards this morning. The demand for most classes of cattle in Poverty Bay recently has been good, and this morning there was a spirited sale at excellent prices. Up to the luncheon adjournment 1200 cattle had been offered. Bullocks sold up to £9 Us, 3-year bullocks in first condition from £8 to £8 ss, 20-months Hereford steers £6 2s, and wcaners from £4 to £4 4s.

FAT CATTLE There was an entry of 185 fat cattle. There was a brisk sale and all wellfinished beasts were in demand. An extra big and prime Polled Angus bullock from Avo'ndale station made £lB ss, and a prime Hereford bullock £l3 7s fid. Heavy prime bullocks made £ll 15s and £ll 12s (id, and a pen of 29 bullocks from Mrs Jeffrey, of Pehiri, made £lO 12s 6d. Cows sold up to £7 15s.
