FLAG OF "THE BUFFS"
GIFT TO HOLLAND IN MEMORY OF 90 YEARS' SERVICE. THE HAGUE, March 8. The East Kent Regiment ("The Buffs"), which began its long history as one of tho "train bands'.' of the City of London, was sent to Holland in 1576 to assist the Dutcli against the Spaniards, and was known as the Holland Regiment. It continued to serve there until 1665, when it was recalled and formally attached to the British Army officially as the 3rd Foot. To commemorate its 90 years in Holland tho regiment is presenting a flafl; and an inscribed mural tablet to the English Chuujh in Amsterdam, wlr'ch wii. be dedicated by the 1 Bishop of Fulham on Sunday, March 18.
