(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. The annual convention of tho New Zealand. Coach and Motor Body Builders' Association opened this morning. Acknowledging tho civic welcome- to the delegates, Mr. E> C. Harvey urged the need of better Customs conditions for the trade. Ho suggested the, importing of British and American chassis at a lower duty, which would enable more nten to be employed in the motor industry and body building. Mr. Harvey said British' chassis and Now Zealand bodies made an excellent combination, but .they had to contend with the mass production, lower freights, etc., of tho American manufacturer. He considered the British chassis should be permitted to come into New Zealand at 5 per cent, instead of 10. per cent, as at present,
