U.S. AND SMUGGLERS
REWARDS UP TO £IO,OOO. NEW YORK, Aug. 24. It is announced that the United States Customs Service will pay up to £IO,OOO for information leading to thd seizure of smuggled liquor, the payments being in accordance with the value of the seizures, including bail and forfeits and totalling 25 per cent, of the amount recovered. Government agents believe that this ruling may cause rum' smugglers to turn informers, By which means they'could make more profits than by smuggling.
