(To the Editor of the Herald.) Sir, —Re Mr. Toneyclitfc’s letter in your last night’s issue, iu justification ’ of his assertion, I beg you to publish the following. I was in the booth, about to register my vote, when I , noticed Mr. Toneycliffe standing alone. , With tlie intention of asking a question I approached him, and had scarcely uttered thTee words when a sharp reI mi/nlcr from the officer in charge '• that no talking was allowed ” stopped the conversation. I apologised, registered my vote, and left. 1 wish to emphasise the fact that it was I who was the ; delinquent and not Mr. Toneycliffe. It was 1 who tried to start the conversation. so quickly ended 1 by the scrutineer’s just reminder.—l am. etc., A. J). CHRIST.
