AT 80 MILES AN HOUR.
MOTOR-CYCLIST’S DEATH. ACCIDENT ON SPEEDWAY. SYDNEY, July 18. Travelling 80 miles an hour in a race on the Maroubra speedway for the Maroubra Gold Helmet, Sid Dutton, one of the best known motor cyclists, crashed into a safety fence while attempting | to pass two competitors. The accident was caused by his handlebar touching the fence, the machine somersaulting and hitting a comer post with terrific force. Dutton fractured his skull and died in hospital two hours later. His wife witnessed the accident.
