Representatives of Australian. New Zralandi and Smith African wool ;:m«ers, including Mr. C. L ? airlxiij - n and Lord Chelmsford, attended a demonstration ;it Louden Show of all-wool wool packs returned full from Australia, as well as a new material, which it i.s believed will avoid the Former's weaknesses.

Mr. Aktoyd. from Bradford, admitted Ilia) many Dominion criticisms el last year's pack were justifiable. Practical iy nil an>«■ From the material's elasticity. Since llie last packs were senl ottl thi y had succeeded in improving the ineiliod of manufacture, resulting in a closer woven material, and also put it through h. shrinking process, 'this closed the. pores and strengthened Hie material, preventing sagging. As a result of antom.it ic looms. requiring less attention, they had succeeded in rechic ing the cost of all-wool packs.

With the extra ",d :i pound promised for all wool packed in all-wool narks growers would actually nuike a prolil of 2s to "s a bale, coi'npured with (lie jute parks. If the new [)nck were used on a huge scale Ihe cost of production would further be reduced, while I lie manufacture of the packs would increase the consuntpl ion of low grade. wool. French, American and ,la.panose manufacturers supported the new park. Mr. faii-bairn expressed the opinion that.the new pack would nieel all the difficulties.

He thanked Mr. Akroyd for his per sonal efforts and expenditure inward a solution of this important problem. REDUCED COSTS LIKELY. (Renter's Telegram.}

A meeting of the Dominion Woolgrowers' Committee in London, in conjunction with the Bradford Chamber of Commerce, was held to inspect the new woolpacks sent to Australia and back for a. test, and also to consider criticism of last year's cost of packs of ISs 6d, which can now he reduced by 2s, while a further considsrable reduction is possible. A halfpenny more per pound will be paid for wool from the new packs. A marking paint- lias been discovered not injurious to wool.
