(Elec. Tel. Copyright —TJnited Press Assn.. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, .lulv If).

Professor Robertson, president of (he .Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh, lecturing to the British Medical Association, declared that insanity was nearly three times as prevalent among single men and women between the ages of 2." and .1.1 as among a similar number of married people of the same age. The incidence of insanity among married people was decidedly low. The obvious deduction therefore, was that the condition of marriage was the most favorable mode of existence for men and women.

Men remaining bachelors between 2.1 and 34 years, be said, died on an average four years sooner than married men, in addition to running three times (he risk of becoming insane. He added that powers first began to fail between the ages of 4.1 and 50, when increased effort was necessary in order to keep abreast of younger competitors.
