At the annual meeting of the Cricket Association, Mr. Smith, who was rejected by the Gordon Club as a delegate to the Association, was elected delegate by the Junior Association almost unanimously. The previous Junior Association delegate stood down in favor of Mr. Smith, contending that. Mr. Smith's services to New South Wales cricket were too valuable to be lost. He said that although Mr. Smith may have made some enemies, his friends outnumbered them by 100 to one.

• GOLF. POVERTY HAY CLUB. VISIT TO NAPIER. Arrangements have now boon completed for a team of players from the Poverty Bay Golf Club to visit Napier and compete against a team from that club. Telegraphic confirmation of the proposal was received from Napier this morning, and the match will be played on August 11. It. is a happy circumstance that the visit synch ionises with the visit of members of the Gisbome Savage Club to Napier, and also with the Welling-ton-Hawko's Bay football match.
