The well-known trotter, Albert Cling, died at Uamaru yesterday. Albert Cling was one of the best pacers bred in New Zealand. Me was foaled in 1914, being by Young McKinney from Embrace, by Almont trom Cling, an Australian-bred mare.
Although Gloaming is, not doing any' fast work at present, he is being kept going with steady tasks. Apparently he. >au be written out as far as the Auckland. meeting is concerned, and with the Waterloo .Stakes off the programme at Trent ham, there is nothing for him prior to the Mtddlepark Plate at the C.J.C. February meeting, after which he may make another trip to Wanganui for the Jackson Stakes, a race lie has already won four times. Deucalion has been taken in hand again after a fortnight's, rest, following on his racing at the South Canterbury .meeting. lie looks well, and seems to have thrown oil' the soreness which caused his temporary retirement. Empyrean is being got, ready for the hurdle’races at the West Const holiday meetings. He has had some experience at tin l business, and in his schooling effort at Riiecarton yesterday he showed lie was a proficient, fencer.
