SUPREME COURT DELAY.
DEFENDANT’S N ON-A PPMARANCE: APOLOGY TENDERED. Tlio delay in the work of the Supreme Court which was occasioned by the nonattendance of Mr. F. G. Dunlop, who is the defendant in two civil actions set down for hearing, was referred to when the Court resumed this morning, Mr. Dunlop being present; When the first case was -called. Mr. Dunlop said ho understood an apology was due from him for delaying the won; of Ihe Court. He had not realised until ho .saw the local newspapers that he had been responsible for so much inconvenience.

.Mr. Dunlop: There is no excuse for my not being present at the Court your Honor. All that 1 can say in palliation ol my neglect is that I wan advised that there were, two jure eases which would occupy* some t im■*-. Telegrams which were sent to me were delayed in transit, and as soon as I heard of the position 1 came In Gisborne as quickly as pusr.ill.P.
Mr. Dunlop added that lie had also to apologise for appearing in Court in person, but. this wrej also aeeouriied! for by the haste with which he had' come over.
His Honor : G’no would have thought (hat as you were involved iii two serious cases you would have been in Court making your preparations. Mr. Dunlop: For rerlain reasons i did not regard the cases as serious. I was exporting both of them to he set tied.
