Advice has been received from Captain Holm that he has purchased the steamer KVlebeg for the South Island, Wellington, and Wanganui trade. CARTERTON, this day. The first annual conference of the Now Zealand Anglican Bible Class Union took place at Carterton from December 30 to January 2, and was attended by a large number of delegates from various parts of New Zealand. The Rev. G. H. L. Blackbqurie (Palmerston North) presided, and tho Bishop of Nelson preached an address on Sunday evening. Remits of importance to tho Bible-class movement were discussed, and arrangements mado for a progressive campaign during tho coming year.
