WASHINGTON, June 18. Mr. McAdoo has announced his irrevocable, decision not to offer himself for nomination at the Democratic Convention.,, and declared that the Democratic party must stand squarely for the ratification of the treaty and the League of Nations without deliberating on reservations. Senator Harding, questioned concerning the Wilson interview, said: "I am sure the Republican party would gladly welcome a referendum on the question of the United States' foreign relations, and the Republican attitude m preserving our nationality will be overwhelmingly endorsed." NEW YORK. June 19. . Tho chairman of the prohibition commission announces that the prohibitionists are so disappointed at Senator Harding's nomination for the Presidency that they propose to run their own Presidential ticket. ' A significant feature of the Wilson interview is that it does not emanate from himself as a candidate for the Presidency, but it is considered the tone of the interview rather suggests he may consider himself a candidate, (Received June 21, 9.30 a.m.) SAN. FRANCISCO, June 19. , The proposal that Mr Colby be made permanent chairman of the Democratic Convention was considered. A hint was received from Washington that jthe secretary of state is President Wilson's real choice for presidential nomination. Thig was not new. and was received some time ago, but discounted m, view of Mr. McAdoo's statement declining nomination. It has strongly revived the belief that Mr. Colby is receiving Mr. Wilson's support.
