Albert Ernest Keams, a returned soldier, pleaded guilty at the Police Court to-day to a charge of bigamy, that, being 'married-' to Grace Darling Hodgkinson at Napier on April 14, 1909, he did go through the, form of marriage with Clara Annie Sowerby at Palmerston North on January 27, 1916. Accused was committed "for sentence at the Supreme Court at Palmerston North. DUNEDIN, this day.,. Mr.' William Smart, superintendent engineer .of the U.S.S. Company's staff since I'OOS, retired this month. The late superintendent engineer for the company at Sydney has been appointed to fill Mr. Smart's position.
