Elec. Tel. Copyright- United Press Assn i (Australian and N.Z Cable Association.) (Received) Feb. 2, 10.50 a.m ) LONDON, Feb. 1. The Daily Mail's Berlin correspondentasked Von Gwinner, who i 9 regarded as the Napoleon of German finance : "Is Germany going) bankrupt?" He replied : "The general position is virtually bankrupt, though it does not apply to the Treasury which is forced to continue the use of abundant paper. The fabric of credit is tottering to a crash and such a crash would involve the whole of Europe, owing to the economic interdependence of the nations. No sane British or French financier believes Germany will be able to pay the indemnities specified, but given- breathing space, credits and raw materials, we will ultimate'v vn-r a very large sum."
