WELLINGTON, this daj^. j Among the provisions of the E*^pedi-.-tionary Forcbs Act Amendment Bill which were dropped by the Government owing to the failure of the House and Council to agree regarding, the exemption of teachers Mas a olause ( providing tliat exemption should! be graiited m the cape of- any reservist who was, the last remaining son of his parents of military age, if three of his brothers had served/ or were serving m .the present vr,av. The loss o^ the Bill entailed, the loss -of thjis provision M*hich .had been .^pproyed: by both branches of the Legislature, but the Military Service Boards have been recommended by the Government to take into consideration the will of Parliament when dealing with cases which would have come .-, within the scope pf the clause. The Military Service Act, 1916, provides that it shall be a ground pf exemption that {i reservist is the sole surviving son of military age, arid at least one of his brothers has lost his lif e through active service m the presept war., !?
