(Received July 11, 11.05 a.m.) 1 LONDON, July 10.' At the wool sale there was a strong demand for all sorts, prices being unchanged. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their head oilice:— "Wool sales continue active, with ' brisk competition. English buyers are. the principal operators m all good wools, but American buyers are also, operating freely m crossbred wools, fine and medium quality. Greasy merino, wools 'arc' 5 per cent, higher; scoured merinos . are rather higher;' fine quality scoured crossbreds have risen 5 per- cent;; other .'descriptions of scoured wools unchanged; slipo wools, fine -crossbred, unchanged; medium coarse crossbred slipc wools, if it change, it will be m buyers' favor. Prices, for lambs' wool arc a little lower, especially for seedy wools." The New Zealand Loan and M6rcantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on their stock sale held at Matawhero yards on Thurs-' day. July 9th, as follows:— The attendance was about the ; average, and the yarding small. The demanU was slack, and all .sheep were down m price. There appeared to be very few buyers operating; Fat sheep: Fat ewes, medium sorts, lCs 0d to 17s 4d; only a small entry. Store sheep: We yarded ' 1800 and sold 917, at the following prices:— Woolly hoggets, medium sorts 16s Od, smaller 14s Bd, shorn hoggets (small) 10s 3d, ewes m lamb (fair^orts) 15s, do. aged Us 8d to Us 3d, do. culls 7s 9d, empty ewes m forward condition 15s. do. m low condition 10s to lls, two and four-tooth wethers (good sorts) 21s Od to 225, do. smaller 19s. Pigs: Porkers 32s to 355, weaners 13s to 18s. Fat cattle: There was no demand; all lines were passed under the hammer. Store cattle: A good demand was experienced for any lines showing quality, and last sale, prices were fully maintained. We yarded 202 and sold 131, as follows:— Two-year steers £5 7s Gd, bullooks £7. mixed weaners to 18 months £3 7s 6d to £3 15s, heifers m calf £5, cows m calf (m low condition) £3 los. dairy cows £<* 5s to £5 10s. weaner Jersey hclfcrs; £2 lGs. Our next sale will be held on Thursday, July 23, for which we invite entries.
