LONDOii, February, 15. _
Mr Harold Baker (Financial Secretary to the War Office) m reply to Mr Hunt (Unionist) m the House of Commons, said the alteration made m the specification to supply meat to the army, fixing the minimum weight of Australian forequarters at llOlbs was made because it was found that restrictions m regard to the removal of flanks and brisket involved a larger reduction m weight than was expected. He said further that 7441bs of meat supplied by Borthwicks on October 4, and 3061bs on November 13 were rejected as unfit for food on arrival. This was due to delayed transit.
