Recognising the seriousness of ttlie threat of the butcher employees to cease work to-night the council of _ie Federated Employers' Union is considering the question of taking charge of the dispute between the masters and men, both m Sydney anfl Melbourne.

Representatives of various Melbourne firms were informed that there was no danger of a strike m Melbourne. It was suggested that' they should apply to the Court for si compulsory conference, but it is reported that the Sydney env ployers do not favor a conference, preferring to fight without interference.
