Barry, president of the Wairau Land Railway League, has received a letter from the Under-Secretary of Lands Department, stating that alter consultation with the Public >Yorks Department it had been decided to lay otf a reserve for railway purposes through the Hillersden estate. This indicates the Government's intention at a future date to construct a line up the Wairau Valley, thus connecting Marlborough with the .West Coast.
