The Chancellor, Mr Lloyd-George, m the House of Commons to-day, m reply to a question as to what progress the Land Committee's inquiry had made, said that agricultural laborers' conditions were deplorable, and their wages and housing were scandalous. He v had a plan, which .he would put-line later, whereby the serious stream of migration might be and the surplus population m the towns placed on the land.
