: ■» At the Opera House this evening the Merry Widow Opera Company, under the direction of Mr D. B. O'Connor, will present, by arrangement with J. 0. Williamson, Ltd., the world-famed comic' opera "Our Miss Gibbs," which had suck a phenomenal run in Australia, ancl put up box office records for Wellington and the other big centres of New Zealand. Press . reports to hand refer in highly complimentary terms to the performance and performers alike, and a treat should be in store to-night for lovers of comic opera. The company, which is a strong one, carries an orchestra of its own. The principals include Miss Eva Moore, Mary Gibbs; Miss Ida/ Leggatt, Lady Betty; Miss Cliff Palmer, Madame Jeanne ; Miss Bertha, Hunter, Mrs Farquhar; Mr D. B. O'Connor, Hughie ; Mr John Ralston, Eynsford ; Mr J. H. Mitchell, Slithers ; and Mr Geo. Edwards, Timothy- Gibbs. The opera will be staged on an elaborate scale. Tomorrow a.n equally strong attraction in "The Merry Widow" is to be staged, and two other big attractions, in "Tlie Belle of New York" an^ '-Catch of the Season" will be staged on. Wednesday and Thursday nights respectively. Some good seats are yet available, the plan being at Lucas' shop. No extra fee is made for booking. ..
