On Sunday night a number of theftfc of goods were . made from oil .lauiiclves moored on the ' Pousonby side., of the waterfront, but yesterday there arrived news of a much more daring and impudent rob_fery — this time from the Parnell side. Mr Fulton, otA. Parnell. had his launch Glenayr mooted m ■'■ Mechanic's Bay, just off the Wynyard pier, yesterday afternoon he received word*" that the launch. was settling down, _ and that she appeared m danger of -sinking, at-' her moorings'. The owrier hastened put ! to the spot.- and found the launch deep; m the water. Bailing out at once, discovered the fact that some person or persons had removed the engine of the craft bodily from its position, and had carried the complete mechanism away, The engine had been, of course, bolted m its place, and the bolts had beeiv removed, with the result that the water came through the bolt-holes, slow ly filling the boat. The engine was a 3£ h.p. Portho, which weighs about 1701b5,, and is valued at about J_4o'. The eunibeivfiome natui'c of the mechanism 'makes it clear that the theft had been planned.
