MEN .SHOT DOWN. BY POLICE. NEW YORK, May 15. Conflicts between mobs of strikers and the police have taken place at Sacranto, Pennsylvania. Foreign " miners, with wild outcries, led a mob of 2000 .men, and broke *■ through "the lines of police guarding tho strike-breakers.' - The m'eri at work wei'c beaten unmercifully. Police "officers' 'drew -their revolvers,, and fired on v the mob, killing two of the rioters. The strikers retaliated by assailing the police with showers of bricks and sto.jes, and bludgeoning them with heavy clubs.
