THE PARKER EXPEDITION.
ALLEGED THEFTS IN JERUSALEM.
LONDON, May 27. The Hon. M. Parker, head of the archaeological expedition whose desecration of the Mosque of Omar m Jerusalem recently made such a stir m the Holy City, has issued an authoritative statement regarding the alleged theft of sacred relics. Mr Parker explains that the work which the expedition did was earned out under a contract, with the Turkish Governriient, anil "that all the antiquities unearthed were not Jaken out of the country*. but were at present m the village of Siloarii.
