MACMAHON'S LIVING PICTURES.

There was a large and delighted audience at ; the entertainment given last night at His Majesty's Theatre. ' The programme was mainly a repetition of that of the previous evening, excepting that everything was done under conditions that enabled the company to appear at their best. The beautiful colored pictures shown m conjunction with Miss Lorariiie Tansley's excellent songs formed a most enjoyable feature, and a distinct novelty for Gisborne was the casting out of the shadows so as to represent the flight of angels to the ceiling above tlie dress circle. A pleasing characteristic of MacMahon's entertainments is that cai'e is taken to avoid anything that will offend refined tastes ;an otherwise good entertainment is frequently marred by variety items that are not suited to all tastes, but with MacMahon's all .is ' heartily enjoyable. The entertainment may be classed as 1 one of high merit that deservedly attracts large audiences.

For to-night's farewell occasion the management have provided a specially attractive and comprehensive progx-am-me, which will comprise all the gems of their extensive repetoire, among which may be mentioned the latest picture comedies "Our Band Competition," "A French Tommy Atkins," "The Manoac Juggling Feat," together with a remarkable 1< reneh dramatic composition entitled' "The Incendiary Robbers." In compliance with a general desire the very popular subjects "Lost m the Alps," and "Her .first bike ride" will be repeated, while a remarkable presentation said to be tlie, greatest cinematograph achievement to date will be given for the first and -only time m Gisborne, viz;, the complete reproduction m color arid action of the great Parisian pantomime "The Harlequin's Love Story." The organisation leaves for Auckland by tomorrow's steamer. •
