(Per 1 Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. last night. There was a good attendance and a brisk market at Addington to-day. - Fat cattle : Prices were 5s to 10s above the previous week's rates. Steers sold at £6 15s to £10 2s 6d, lieifers £5 15s to £8, cows £5 10s to £8 7s 6d, and one at £9 15s. "being at the rate of 20s to 22s for good to prime beef, and> 17s .to 19s 6di for cows and inferior to fat. Store cuttle : Yearlings 16s, 15 to 18---months 39s 6d to 625, two-year-old heifers £3 ss, dry cows 37s 6d to £3 15s. Dairy cows: Prices ranged from £4 10s to £8 10s, Fat sheep : The entry was of moderate dimensions, and competition being active an advance on the previous rates were realised, wethers of freezing weights making as much as ,41s, Id 1 per lb over alt 1 , and' ewes from 71s, 2d/ to 4d. 18s Slore sheep : Approaching 10,000 were penned, including consignments from Nelson, Marlborough, the North Island and Chatham Islands. Bidding was perhaps less spirited than at recent' markets, • the high prices inducing caution, but there was no weakeiting of values, and almost every' lot was' soldi. The' prices were: Ewes 18s Id to' 2ss 7d, Wethers 17^ to 19s 7d.. lambs lls Sd to. 17s, sd.
