A battalion parade of school cadets is to bo held on Saturday next. Colonel Loveday will be present. The parade will be m charge of Major Kinder, commander of the local battalion. MataM'hero and Ormond Company will be commanded by Captain McLeod, Makauri and) Mangapapa by Captain Cole, and Waerenga-a-hika by Captain 15111s. The cadets will be exercised m various military evolutions. It i-s proposed later to hold a week's camp m the country, probably at Ormond. The Department requires that it shall be held at a time when the tent and other equipment of the Defence Department is available.
