Hurunui is an electorate which is happy in possessing a Parliamentary representative- (Mr A. W. Rutherford), whose bonhomie apparency is only exceeded by his wealth. Accordingly, Mr Rutherford's honorarium is a matter of small moment to him. and' lie has 'been dealing with- it »in a fasluon that has evoked this enthusiastic- little paragraph in the Che- " viot News : "Mr Rutherford, M.H.R., is distributing lu's honorarium with a lavish hand. He lias already given the sum of £40 to the various School Committees within "His electorate for prizes for the best all-i ; oundf boys and pirls in each class in the different schools. He has ail so donated large sums to the football and athletic oliubs, and lias not forgotten the churches/'
