WHITEHOUSE BIOSCOPE COMPANY.

•To-night at the Theatre Royal Mr A. H. Whitehouse, who is a pioneer exhibitor of Edison's inventions, makes his first appearance m Gisborne. His projection machine was personally purchased at the Paris Exposition, and has the special feature of running its scenes m unbroken periods, lasting m some case.s 20 minutes, the changes taking place with lightning rapidity, while the subject is continuous. This manner of displaying the Jiving pictures finds great favor, its it tVKible-s a much, larger variety of scenes to be projected. A magnificent set represents Lord Sanger's circus passing through Winston Park, with its splendid horse*, chariots, triumphal cars, vans, containing the wild animals, elephants, camels, dromedaries, and clowns, is a splendid spectacular effect. A burlesque series ''What happened to Jones" creates repeated bursts of laughter. Splendid miscellaneous scenes, illusions, and comic items, interpersed with selections on the Concert Grand Theatrophone, also comic patter songs by a speciality artistsupply a programme which is full of interest from start to finish. From an exhibitor who has been continually entertaining for the past nine years a satisfactory exhibition may be safely anticipated.
