POVERTY BAY HUNT CLUB.

■ .. _ -4 A meet of the Poverty Bay Hunt Club ; took place to-day at Koraua. The ( deputy-Master, Mr J. Harding, was m charge. He was mounted on Mr Hemy Tucker's horse, Topthorn, which has been ' put at Mr Harding's service for the bal- : ance of the season. The members pret sent expressed regret at the absence of Mr ' Harding's favorite hunter Wariti, which , died recently from heart disease. Amongst I those present were: Mrs Collin Dunlop : on. Sailor, Miss Sherratt on Schnapps, - Miss Reynolds on Haere, Mr Harding on i Topthorn, the huntsman, Mr J. Malone, . on Czar, Mr W. Hutchinson on Baldy, s Mr W. Jobson on Ballinger, Mr Devery i on The Colonel, Mr G. Jones on Flirt, i Mr T. Sherratt on Waterfall, Mr C. i Humphreys on a bay, Mr C. Dunlop on i an iron-grey by Mazeppa, Mr Hennessy i on Lieutenaiit, Mr Sergeant on a bay, I Mr D. Evans on Etta, Mr H. Cooper od . Rangi, Mr J. M. Gouldsmitji on Fencer. I Messrs 0. Evans and J. Macintosh, who s acted as whips, were mounted on Kaitoa i and Hippogriff respectively. There was a considerable number of onlookers, on r wheel and on horseback, amongst the latter being Mr P. Malone on Pirate. ' Shortly after 11.30 the hounds threw off on the Karaua side of Pakirikiri. The [ first obstacle 'Was a very formidable one, '. which was safely negotiated by all the 1 riders. Then the course was down- | through Mr Wails' paddock, past the ' whare, then back across the road into Mr '. Walls' property, thence along the frontI age of the main road for half-a-mile, and , on to the sandhills. After a short interval the deputy-Master decided to lay the drags back again to the starting ' point. There were no serious mishaps, i and only one or two harmless spills. Af- [ ter the run, Mr and Mrs Wall entertained . the members of the Club at lunch. The f run to-day was a ne\v one, and the mem- , bers of the Club desire to express thejr s thanks to Mr and Mrs Wall for their kindness and hospitality.
