Wait-a-bit easily defeated Scorn over twelve furlongs iv 2min 49sec. Parthian, showing no signs of soreness, went a mile and a-half in 2min 49see. Seahorse traversed a mile and a-half in 2min 45sec. Zee accompanied him for the first halfmile and Waterloo for the last mile. The New Zealander showed excellent form. The Newmarket Handicap is causing a good deal of speculation, the latest prices being 100 to 9 Foret, Cornquist, Watchdog, and Sequence, 100 to Blunderer and Stand-Off. For the Australian Cup the prices are : 6 to 1 Merriwee and Parthian, 7 to 1 Disfigured, 8 to 1 George Frederick,
